03— Judcody Limon
Raised in California, a state known to be a music hub, Judcody Limon’s breathtaking talents are perfectly exhibited through his passion and hard-working nature. From the age of eleven, Judcody had always been experimenting with melodies, whether it be playing an instrument or composing rhythms. Impressively, Judcody has been in the industry for over ten years. In the past, he worked with multiple different bands, and currently, he’s working as a solo artist, hoping to release his album next year!
However, being a small solo artist in the music industry is an arduous journey. He would sometimes question his talents and reconsider whether pursuing music is the right path for him. Fortunately, he was reassured by numerous people in his life praising his abilities and complimenting his work, which reassured Judcody that he should continue to make music.
“I know how harsh the industry can be… I would say those [compliments and encouragements] keep me going. If no one was ever saying any of that, I probably would have stopped.“
In many ways, music and art can be influenced by the artist’s personal life. Judcody takes music as a form of coping, and often, most of his music is a creation from his experiences and unveiling of his emotions.
“A lot of musicians and creatives joke that music and art are cheaper than therapy, and that’s like life, processing things that happen to you through music and through art, the majority of my music has a really big effect on how I choose to process and use music through that,” said Judcody Limon.
The creative process of composing music is just as significant as the purpose of creating the work, and to Judycody, art is a movie. Using colors, or in his case, melodies, to decorate them is why art is so important. Judcody’s love for music is displayed when he describes how honored he was when a high school student asked to use his music for their graduation.
“You will always remember my song with you graduating, it’s so meaningful to me that I became a part of that.”
